Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers payments made to the Association online (through PayU) and at the Association office — membership fees, monthly subscriptions, penalties and Death Relief Fund payments.
2. Fees are not refundable once paid
Membership fees, subscriptions and Death Relief Fund payments are paid to the Association towards membership. Once a payment has been successfully made and receipted, it is not refundable or transferable, except in the cases below. The Death Relief Fund membership fee is non-refundable under the Bye-Laws, and a Life Member who becomes an Associate Member cannot claim a refund of the Life Membership fee (Rule 3(A)(c)).
3. When we refund
- Duplicate payment — the same dues paid twice.
- Money debited but payment not completed — if your bank or UPI app shows a debit but the payment failed or was not confirmed, PayU and your bank normally reverse it automatically within 5–7 working days. If it is not reversed, contact the office.
- Payment made in error — for example a wrong amount, or a payment against another member's record — after the office verifies it.
- Fees paid in advance for months after a member's membership has ended (resignation or death) — refunded to the member or the nominee on written request.
4. Cancellation
- You can cancel an online payment at any time before completing it on PayU's page — nothing is charged.
- A completed payment cannot be cancelled by the member. A receipt issued in error can be cancelled by the Association office; any money received against it is refunded as in section 3.
- Where the office records a membership payment and a Death Relief Fund payment together, it issues one receipt for each account; if that payment is cancelled, both receipts are cancelled.
5. How to ask for a refund
- Write to the office (details below) within 30 days of the payment, with the receipt number or PayU transaction ID.
- The office acknowledges your request within 3 working days.
- Approved refunds of online payments are made to the original payment method through PayU within 7–10 working days; office payments are refunded at the office or by bank transfer.
- Refunds of Death Relief Fund payments are made from the Death Relief Fund account.
